I’ve got a foot in the stirrup and the reins in my hand, but I’m not quite back in the saddle just yet. I’ll need another day to digest the events of the past week, all of which were centered on the return of my son’s battalion from Iraq. (”Digest the events?” Let me put it another way: Your average Marine, upon his return to his native land, dedicates himself to the task of putting significant overtime pay into the pockets of America’s brewery workers. I’m an old man. I couldn’t keep up. I need another day of recovery.)
